小さい頃、毎週土曜日の朝は大好きなアニメを見るために起きていた。その後、フラッシュ・ゴダンやターザンのような古いブラック・シリーズを見るようになった。昔のターザンの連続ドラマは、私の想像力をかきたてるものだった。暑いアフリカのジャングルでの冒険生活を想像してみてほしい。猿や類人猿と暮らす。緑の蔓で木々の間をスウィングする。巨大なトラと戦う。

私はその空想に夢中になり、シャツを脱いでロープにぶら下がることで、私の言うことを真似しようとするほど狂っていた。ところで、それはいつもうまくはいかなかった。

大人になってから、私は「ジャングル・ベア」という絵で、子供時代のこの時期に敬意を表した。緑豊かなジャングルを巨大な蔓で揺れ動く、輝かしい頭髪を持つ愛らしいテディベア。彼は次の冒険に向かって疾走している。

When I was a little boy, I'd wake up every Saturday morning to watch my favorite cartoons. Later on, I'd watch old black and watch serials such as Flash Gordan and Tarzan. The old Tarzan serials really caught my imgination. Imagine living a life of adventure in the hot African jungle. Living with apes and monkeys. Swinging between trees on a green vine. Fighting massive tigers.

I was so caught up in the fantasy, I was crazy enough to try to emulate what I say by taking off my shirt and swinging around from a rope. That didn't always work out by the way.

As an adult, I paid tribute to this period of my childhood with my painting, "Jungle Bear". An adorable teddy bear, with a glorious head of hair, swinging across a lush, green jungle on a massive vine. He racing to his next adventure.
